Let's talk "signs."

For many things are falling into place: Whether they are in your time-frame is not the issue. Odds are, they're not. We all tend to be premature. They are in God's fluid time. Look around you -- especially at what's transpiring close to home: personally -- and see what you discern.

Twenty years ago, in studying potential future disasters for a new book, I visited a number of places, including the Kilauea volcano, not because I think this will create an apocalyptic-type event, but because I wondered if it would be a forerunner -- which I believe now that it may be.

This is and has been the season of forerunners. More on that in a moment. There are still those strange trumpet sounds. And still messages.

While matters have unfolded more slowly than many expected, they are falling into place along the timeline I remember from people such as Maria Esperanza.

We're the ones who rush things. As one "word of knowledge" several years ago put it, "in this time, expect the error of premature expectation, but not [error in] the truth of the expectation itself."

While focusing on natural disasters -- such as those fountains of lava on the Big Island -- we forget the manifestations of signs in everyday matters, including and even especially in our own households or churches or workplaces. Signs in Rome? In politics?

Have things seemed tougher for you? Have there been more "crosses" -- difficulties? Is the evil one more active against you? In society, have we ignored the signs and forewarnings that (see 9/11) already have taken place?

"Dear children, I am your Sorrowful Mother and I suffer for what awaits you," says a recent message. "Bend your knees in prayer. Difficult times will come for men and women of faith. True doctrine will be wounded and in many places the flock will disperse. I ask you to remain faithful to Jesus. Do not allow the enemy of God to steal what is most precious within you. Seek strength in prayer and in the Eucharist. Accept the Gospel and listen to the true Magisterium of the Church of My Jesus. Do not let the flame of faith fade within you. You are the Lord's and Him alone should you follow and serve. Trust fully in the Power of God."

Indeed! Trust is the key word. Trust in all circumstances.
